In most action games, taking damage only costs health. Here, it costs your power.
Defeat enemies to collect Elemental Orbs and power up your abilities. Taking damage causes you to drop one Orb from your current stack. If you have no Orbs left, you'll lose HP instead. Recover the dropped Orb before it disappears, or lose that power permanently.
Every fight is a balance between risk and reward. Stay aggressive to maintain your strongest abilities, and swap between elemental powers to adapt to every encounter.

• Level 1 abilities require one Orb and don't consume it.
• Level 2 abilities consume two Orbs when activated.
• Spend Orbs to restore health whenever you need it.
• Extra Orbs continue increasing your element's stack instead of being wasted.
• Visit the shop before the boss to spend coins on stat upgrades and temporary abilities.
